The Hudson Mohawk Recover Center provides outpatient addiction treatment. architecture+ was selected to renovate a poorly built 6,000 square foot, two-story masonry building and design a new 6,000 square foot, two-story addition to house their program.

The renovation includes the removal of the front of the building and gutting the entire interior. We designed the addition and remodeled the interior to provide new individual offices and private therapy spaces as well as group therapy rooms, a large conference room, and a multi-room day treatment program with a commercial kitchen.
 
We also designed two new code compliant stairways, a new elevator, and new mechanical and electrical systems. An important part of the design of this facility is the incorporation of two-story curtain wall windows and large vaulted skylights to bring natural light into the interior. We designed the site to include a new paved plaza at the rear of the building to accommodate outdoor therapy and other group activities.
