These secure forensic treatment facilities are modeled after the Great Camps of the Adirondacks. They are the first of their kind and represent an innovative alliance of security and active treatment. Many security systems are nearly invisible thereby reinforcing treatment goals by giving residents the opportunity to gain trust and increase responsibility.

The Sunmount Center includes wetlands, forest, recreation areas, walking paths, and gathering spaces. Structures include nine residential "cottages," two treatment buildings with vocational workshops, classrooms, dining areas, recreational space, and administrative space. The architecture features simple gabled forms, porches, rustic materials, and colors to reinforce the setting.
 
The Norwich Center features a 25,000 square foot program and therapy building (with offices, classrooms and workshop) as well as five residential "cottages." Each cottage contains twelve beds, a living room, a dining room, a recreation area, and support spaces. architecture+ provided a full range of services from design through construction including extensive perimeter security, site work, and the development of over a mile of new roadway and public utilities.
