Senior Citizens/Veterans Housing
Troy, New York
Troy Housing Authority

architecture+ worked with Omni Housing Development to prepare a study for a revitalization project for low income housing for senior citizens and/or veterans at Buildings 1 and 2 of the John P. Taylor Apartments. The apartments, designed as public housing for the Troy Housing Authority, had been vacant for several years. The impetus for this project was the need for veterans’ housing, the common support services needed by veterans and seniors, and the availability of potential funding. The design included a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, an outpatient clinic, and community space.
