architecture+ prepared two conceptual design options for three mixed-use projects within a one mile radius in downtown Schenectady. There are a total of 183 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom market rate apartments with an estimated construction value of $57 million. The buildings also include office, restaurant, retail, and fitness space as well as garage and surface parking for 265 cars.

Contemporary Urban Design
Our designs address the challenges unique to each site, including National Register eligibility for an adjoining building and the acoustic and vibration mitigation along the Amtrak line. The architectural expression of the buildings integrates masonry, fiber-cement panels, and curtainwall to provide an engaging contemporary urban expression geared towards market-rate and luxury apartment tenants looking for a walkable urban downtown setting.
