THA and Omni Development Company|Troy, New York
Originally designed and constructed in 1964, the 21-story, 150,000 square foot John F. Kennedy Towers had not undergone any substantial renovation in over 40 years. architecture+ was commissioned to design a total reconstruction of the facility to provide larger, handicapped accessible units and all new building, mechanical, and electrical systems to meet current codes and standards.
Project Type:
Multi-Family
Housing
Senior Housing

The project was to be constructed in multi-floor phases keeping the existing senior tenants and their apartments fully serviced throughout the construction project. After two years of construction, the result is a new, modern 135-unit apartment complex with new tenant facilities such as a family dining room and lounge, library, exercise, and recreation rooms.
"They're beautiful...it's like the difference between night and day when you walk into one of the new apartments."
John Finsh, Resident
