Arien Cartrette
AIA

Arien Cartrette joined architecture+ in 1998 following an internship at SALA Architects in Minneapolis and field work as both a carpenter and metal worker. It was this hands-on experience that influenced Arien’s thinking on design as an expression of the art of building — the understanding of how a building comes together, which itself informs its essential aesthetic nature.

Arien also has experience in the design and production of furniture and keeps informed on the latest developments in lighting technology and products. His keen interest in art, photography and sculptural design further adds to his overall design sensibilities. In recognition of his abilities, he was named an associate with architecture+ in 2012.
